This year the Middle school students will have the opportunity to participate in several Mathematics Competitions, at various elementary schools throughout the Archdiocese.
The various competitions, dates and classes eligible are listed below. The students will be receiving more information during their math classes.
More detailed information will be posted as the various contest dates approach.
MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH LEAGUE
All 6-8 students are invited to participate.
A total of 10 students (2 teams of 5 - one 6th, two 7th, and two 8th) per meet.
All students will receive a permission form from Ms. Brand
It is due back to Ms. Brand by the given due date.
Students will be chosen based on their availability for specific dates and
on the number of students wishing to participate.
Every effort will be made to include as many students as possible.
Math Meets for 2011-2012 are all after school on Thursdays:
October 13, 2011 - St. Justin the Martyr (Sunset Hills)
December 1, 2011 - Incarnate Word (Chesterfield)
February 16, 2012 - St. Peter (Kirkwood)
April 12, 2012 - St. Gerard Majella (Here!!!!!)
AMERICAN MATHEMATICS COMPETITION GRADE 8 - NOVEMBER 2011
This is the annual in-class mathematics competition given to the 8th grade.
This year's contest date is Tuesday November 15, 2011
The top scoring student(s) will be honored at the 8th Grade Assembly in May.
To participate in this contest, a student must be in class that day.
MISSOURI MATH LEAGUE CONTEST - ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS - FEBRUARY 2012
This is an in-class 40 question multiple choice contest given to all middle school students.
This year's contest date for all middle school students will be on
Tuesday February 28, and Wednesday February 29, 2012.
Top scoring students will be honored at the Awards Assembly at the end of the year.
