ABOUT THE TEACHER
Hi my name is Mrs. Cindy Dunning and I will be your child's first grade teacher!
I have been teaching for 19 years. I taught second grade for 3 years at Christ Prince of Peace and 5th grade for 1 year at St. Mary's in Belleville. I have been teaching at St. Gerard for 15 years. I graduated from McKendree University in Lebanon, IL with a B.S. in Elementary Education. My husband and I have 3 children, Amy-30, Tim 27- and Andrew- 23. We also have 6 grandchildren Michael-13, Emma-11, Madison -3 years old, Jack-2 1/2 years old, Mollie- 1 1/2 years old, and Will-2 months old
I love teaching first grade and look forward to a successful year watching your child grow and change.
Mrs. Watts, our first grade aide, is a wonderful addition to our first grade class! She has worked as a Primary Aide at SGM for the last 9 years. She helps our classes by working with small groups, helping individual students, helping prepare our special projects and activities, and she puts a smile on everyone's face! We are very blessed to have her on our team!

My mission for my class is to teach my students to reach for their goals by challenging themselves.
I want them to use their imaginations. I want to provide a nurturing environment to give the children a love of learning.
I want my students to show Christ's love to others by using kind words, actions, and deeds in the classroom, on the playground, and at home.
