Assessment

Assessment Procedure

Children complete four to five assignments per quarter to assess individual understanding of technology concepts presented. Each concept is practiced prior to individual assessment.

  • Children in Kindergarten are assessed on the following basic objectives:

1. Student demonstrates appropriate mouse control.

2. Student demonstrates ability to open documents/programs.

3. Student uses keyboard commands to print and quit.

4. Student works within program independently to complete assignment.

5. Student follows directions given for assignment.

  • Children in first and second grade are assessed using a basic point system. For each assignment a scoring guide is created based on the objectives. At the end of the quarter, grades are determined based on the number of points earned compared to the total possible points for the quarter.
