This is my third year at St. Gerard Majella and I am looking forward to a
new year!
I have always loved the visual arts since I can remember. The first time I
have ever held a paint brush, I was hooked! I received my bachelors degree in
fine arts at The University of Missouri-Columbia and my teaching certification
in Art K-12 at Webster University. I am currently working on my Masters of
Arts in Education at Webster University as well.
I have many exciting plans for the primary, intermediate and middle school
students. I believe all students should have the opportunity for a productive
and meaningful visual arts experience. It is my goal to create and facilitate
these experiences for my students. Students will be learning a variety of art
principals and elements along with the arts in a historical context. Creating
art is a wonderful way for students to learn successful problem solving skills
that will carry over to their other studies.
Students will produce several different kind of projects that will allow them
to use their analytical and observational talents with art. Students will
also be able to use art as a way to express themselves visually and verbally.
We will be creating art, looking at art, talking about art and writing about
art!
