In Religion, we will discuss how we can thank and appreciate God for our many blessings.  The students will discuss the different places where we can pray and thank God.  We will focus on Lent and Easter.

Reading and Writing-
In Reading, our next theme is called Amazing Creatures.  The kindergarten students will be able to draw conclusions in a story, recognize the sequence of events, and retell a story.  Students will spell independently using phonetic knowledge.  They will continue to sharpen their high frequency word recognition and sound/symbol awareness to help them spell words.  The kindergarten children will continue to journal each day.  The students will work on several creative writing pieces each week during Writer's Workshop.  They will conference with the teacher to discuss ways to improve their writing by adding detail, correct punctuation, etc.

Math-
In Math, kindergarten students will continue to focus on time, money, addition, and subtraction.  We will also concentrate on measurement and capacity.  The students will take ownership of their learning through the use of manipulative materials such as, coin sets, mini clocks, counting chips, number lines, unifix cubes, scales, and rulers.

Social Studies-
In Social Studies, we will focus on history.  We will discuss how things change over days, months, seasons, and years.  This will include how people, things, and our country change over time.  We will also learn about important historical figures who have affected history.
