While your child is Star of the Week, each day of the week will consist of an exciting event or activity to honor him or her.

Monday: Sharing Sack - A small bag that says "Star of the Week" has been sent home with your child to use as a “sharing sack”. Please help your child collect 3 special items to share with the class that has some sort of meaning to your child & put in the bag to return to school on Monday. Also, please send a 4 X 6 photo of your child.

Tuesday: Favorite Book - The star will bring his or her favorite picture book to share with the class. (The child/teacher may read the book to the class).

Wednesday: Lunch Buddy - We'd love to have you join your child in the cafeteria for lunch on this day. You may also choose to invite a sibling or favorite relative to be your child's lunch buddy. If this day doesn't work for you, please let us know. The days can easily be rearranged.

Thursday: Parent Letter - Parents, please write a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to you. Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with your child, and I will read it to the class. The content of the letter is up to you, but you may choose from the following ideas: write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not know about your child, send special pictures of your child with a description of the pictures, write a short story with your child as the main character, or write a letter of your choice, etc.

Friday: Star Picture Frame - The star student will be presented with a decorated picture frame created by classmates & teachers. He or she will also be presented with a "Star Student" certificate.
