My name is Mike Bowles. This is my ninth year at Sunrise R-IX School. I
received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Southwest Missouri State
University and later earned certification to teach learning disabled
students.I’m currently working towards a Master’s Degree in History.
I’m looking forward to working with you during the upcoming school year.
Throughout the year, I will be assessing students’ performance levels and
striving to create a focused program that will allow every student to increase
academic skills. I will be serving students in both resource and
class-within-a class settings.
I will be formally meeting with parents at least once this year at each
student’s annual IEP meeting. As always, if the dates or times of our
scheduled meetings create difficulties, notify me and we will make new
arrangements. I can be reached at (636) 586-6660 from 1:26-2:20 p.m. or
immediately after school, Monday – Friday.
In the resource classroom, we will be working towards development of basic
competencies in each subject area. I will attempt to lend support to students
in subject areas from the regular classroom, as well. In addition, I will be
in some general education classrooms lending support to content-area teachers.
If your child needs extra support for special projects or must make up missed
assignments, I can, in special instances, provide extra support (most often on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.).
