What is dual enrollment?

Dual enrollment courses allow high school students to earn both 
high school and college-level course credit at the same time.
They provide Willard High School students an inexpensive
opportunity to obtain Ozark Technical Community College-level
course credit.

What is the name of the course that I will be dual enrolled?

It depends.  For our history and government course, you can 
choose from the following:

WHS COURSES [OTC COURSE TITLE]
Liberty and the Law [American Government and Politics].

What are the codes and numbers for OTC courses?

American Government and Politics is PLS 101.
All courses have D-9 as their section number.

When is dual enrollment offered?

Dual enrollment is offered only during the academic year.  Dual 
enrollment is not offered for summer courses.

How do I sign up for a dual enrollment course?

The teacher will give notice to their classes and have students 
who are interested to sign up. This list will be given to the
counselors who in turn will provide a packet for students to
complete.

Student will bring the completed paperwork and fees (NO CASH) to
the meeting in the WHS commons (which will be announced). Checks
should be made payable to OTC. Make sure there is a parent
signature and social security number on the application.

What will be required in a dual enrollment course?

Requirements for a dual enrollment course differ from a high 
school course. You will need to check the course’s syllabus.

the home page the dual enrollment course you want to register for.

How much will it cost?

Tuition is based on how many hours a week a student attends a 
class at college. For example, American Government and Politics
is a three hour course. Most college tuition rates calculate an
amount per hour (As of March 31, 2010, courses at OTC are $65.00
per credit hour).

The cost for American Government and Politics or Western
Civilization is $195.00.

What are the prerequisites for taking a dual enrollment course?

Students taking the class must have a 3.0 minimum GPA.

Am I required to take a test before registering for a government or history class?

If you wish to register for English, Physics or Mathematics 
course, proof of testing (ACT, Compass, and Asset) MUST be
presented at the time of registration. You will NOT be required
to present proof of testing for government or history courses.
