Who teaches JROTC?

Retired members of the United States Army teach JROTC. They
receive extensive training and certification from US Army Cadet
Command. Although they are trained by the US Army Cadet Command,
JROTC teachers are employees of the Brookhaven School district,
not the US Army. The Army and the school share the cost of the
teacher’s salaries.

Do I have to wear a uniform?

The JROTC program is a uniformed program where discipline is
judged, in part, by the manner in which a cadet wears a uniform,
as well as by the individual’s personal appearance. A neat and
well-groomed appearance by all cadets is fundamental to the JROTC
program and contributes to building the pride and esprit
essential to an effective Corps of Cadets. Cadets will wear
their uniforms one day a week.
