I was a former student in the South Panola School District and participated
in the gifted program from 2nd grade to 12th grade. I graduated in
1995. In 2001, I graduated with my bachelor's degree in education from the
University of Mississippi. I was a 5th grade teacher for four years
at Batesville Middle School. During the summer of 2005, I attended the
University of Mississippi and attained my certification to teach gifted
students. In 2011, I achieved my National Board certification. This is my
sixth year teaching Merit at Batesville Junior High, eleven years teaching in
all.
I am a proud parent of a son, Austin, and a daughter,
Carlee. I love my profession and enjoy getting to know and care for all the
students who cross my path, along with teaching them the skills they need to
be productive citizens and to use the abilities and gifts they have been
blessed with.
We will strive for excellence in meeting the gifted outcome areas as set
forth by the Mississippi Department of Education. The six major outcome
areas include: Cretivity, Research, Communication, Group Dynamics, Thinking
Skills, and Self-Directed Learning.
