Hi- My name is Karen Covington. The '11-'12 school year is my eleventh at B.J.H. I have been the Librarian here for ten years. I also sponsor the yearbook staff. I am a graduate of Mississippi State University (GO DAWGS!) with a B.S. degree in Secondary English Education. I have a Masters degree in Library Media and plan on soon working on my Ed. S. degree from the University of West Alabama. Before I came to B.J.H., I taught 9-10th grade English and Public Speaking at Vinemont High School in Alabama. At B.J.H., I previously taught 8th grade Language Arts. Sometimes I miss the classroom, but I love the library and having the chance to help our students develop their interests in reading. I am originally from Sulligent, Alabama. I now live in Batesville with my husband Richard and our children, Hugh and Caroline. We attend First Baptist Church in Batesville. In my spare time I enjoy reading (to myself and to my kids), traveling, going to State games, biking, and visiting my family.
