This page will answer questions commonly asked by students and parents.
Why can I not chew gum in choir?
I am not a gum hater in general. In choir, however, gum causes many problems. When you sing, you need to be able to breathe and to use air freely. Gum can be a hazard and actually cause a singer to choke. It also just gets in the way and can make a huge mess in the classroom. The trash that comes from students leaving their gum wrappers behind is also not pretty. Otherwise, outside of choir, gum is a great, breath-freshening invention. Back to Top
