Hello! Welcome to the wonderful world of Language Arts! My name is Thomas
Pipkin, and I recently graduated from Delta State University in May of 2007
where I received my degree in English Education. In the Spring of 2010, I
completed my Masters Degree at the University of Mississippi. I was a
student teacher at Batesville Jr. High in the Spring of 2007 and was
fortunate enough to get hired on at this wonderful school.
I am also fortunate enough to be on the coaching staff for the Batesville
Junior High football team. It is truly an honor to be a part of a program
that has a tradition of winning.
The mission for my class is simple: fun and productivity. I believe that the
time spent in the classroom should never be boring, but should encourage the
active learning of every student contained within it. I plan on helping
students become successful writers, readers, and users of grammar. These
three characteristics of English compliment each other and thus should be
taught in a way that incorporates each one of them. I believe that every
student can become very proficient or even advanced in the field of language
arts and it is my goal to make sure that they get that opportunity. I want
every student to be excited about learning and to realize that all of us are
lifelong learners. LET'S GET READY TO LEARN!!
