STUDENTS NEW TO THE CLINTON PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT MAY BE ENROLLED BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. IN ORDER TO ENROLL A NEW STUDENT TO CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL, PLEASE CALL THE GUIDANCE OFFICE AT 601-924-5443.

All students new to the Clinton Public Schools must submit the following items before registering for classes:

 1.

Long Birth Certificate

 2.

Custody or Guardianship papers if not living with parents listed on birth certificate

 3.

Withdrawal form from previous school-showing phone number and address of school

 4.

Copy of transcript showing credits from previous school

 5.

Two approved proofs of residency in Clinton district (student must be living with the physical custodial parent or legal guardian)

 

a. One proof must be mortgage or lease document. If a lease is used the student's name must be listed on the lease doucment.

 

b. The second proof must be a current utility bill for gas,water,or electricity with visible address. Cable and cell phone are not accepted.

Student's Social Security Card

 8.

Copy of Parent/Guardian's Driver's License

 
If a student is transferring from a non-accredited school or a home-school program, the following accreditation standard will apply:

Any transfer student from a school or program not accredited by a regional or state agency or a student entering from a home school program will be given either standardized achievement tests) or teacher-made special subject tests to determine the appropriate classification of the student. This testing shall take place within thirty days after the filing of such application for transfer. Notice of the administering of such tests) shall be given to the applicant not less than five days prior to the date of the administration of such test.

Clinton High School does not award or accept half credit for a full credit course. Transfer credit is awarded if the credit was earned in a course not taught at Clinton High School. Any changes that are made on the original transcript must come from the home school.

When receiving numeric grades from a school that has a different pass-fail policy from that of CHS, the grades will be recorded as received with the following exception: ALL GRADES BELOW 70 THAT RECEIVED A CREDIT WILL BE CONVERTED TO 70 WITH CREDIT. When receiving letter grades from a school, appropriate school officials will convert using the following chart:

Weighted grades for accelerated classes will be given if the class is offered at Clinton High School. All other grades for transferred accelerated classes will be averaged at face value. ANY EXCEPTIONS CONCERNING TRANSFER CREDITS OR GRADES MUST BE MADE BY THE PRINCIPAL.
