About The Teacher

My name is Mrs. Drummond. I am the back at Clinton High School as a Spanish
teacher this year. I was born in Barcelona,Spain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Whitten who were career missionaries to Spain. I learned Spanish and
English at the same time so therefore am bilingual.

I attended Miss. College from 1971-1975, where I received my BA in Spanish
with a minor in Secondary Ed and English. I received my teaching certificate
to teach Spanish and English.

I met my husband, Sam, at MC and we were married in December, 1976. We went
to Louisville, so that Sam could attend the seminary. He received two
degrees in the nine years we lived there, masters and doctorate. Our first
three children were born during that time.

In 1986 we were appointed as missionaries for the International Mission
Board, out of Richmond, VA. We went to Costa Rica, and then to El Salvador.
We lived in El Salvador during the civil war of the 80's. In 1990, our
fourth child, Sue Carrie, was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador.

After a year of furlough in Louisville, Ky, we were tranferred to Managua,
Nicaragua, where we lived for four years. In 1996, we went to Madrid, Spain
and were there for seven years.

We returned to Mississippi in the summer of 2003. I taught for two years at
Piney Woods School(2005-2007) and was here last year. I had a great year and
some even greater students in my class.

I got to move downstairs to MS Kleish's old room this year(W111) and think I
will enjoy being down there with the other Spanish teachers, Mrs Williams and
Mr. Freeny. I believe this is going to the best school year ever! Go arrows!

Mission For The Class

To learn some basic conversational tools to communicate in Spanish
To be exposed to the hispanic culture as we find it here in the U.S. and in
Hispanic countries around the world
To become more aware of what it means to be a "globally aware" citizen.
To experience the holidays and traditions of Hispanic countries
