Cordelia Godfrey currently teaches English III at Clinton High School. She
is a Millsaps Graduate, and she has done graduate work in English at Jackson
State University and Mississippi College. She also teaches adjunct English
classes at Hinds Community College, and she teaches Porcelain doll classes
at Jackson State University's Kid's Kollege during the summer. She owns her
own business, Godfrey's Gallery. At Godfrey's Gallery, she teaches
beginning porcelain dollmaking to adults and children, she buys and sells
dolls, and she sells doll making supplies. She also has a mini-doll museum
which features dolls from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's.
Cordelia Godfrey has also taught Creative Writing and African American
Literature at Clinton High School
Cordelia Godfrey has been married for 28 years and is the mother of five
children and the grandmother of three. She has wanted to teach all of her
life, and she loves her profession, and she loves the children that she
teaches. Shs is also very active in ministry...for her teaching is more
than a profession...it is a ministry.
Every young man and young woman who enters into this classroom will leave
this classroom knowing that he/she has the ability to achieve anything that
he/she sets his/her mind to do or to be. Every young man and young woman
who enters into this classroom will learn to activate the courage that is
already within him/her to dare to dream and to dare to attain his/her dream.
Every young man and young woman who enters this classroom will learn from
his/her mistakes, will learn that failure is overcome by continued attempts
to succeed, will learn that hard work and dedication to a task pays off.
Every young man and young woman who enters into this classroom will discover
that learning is an exciting adventure that will continue throughout the
rest of his/her life, and will learn that ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE to the
person who dares to open themselves to those possiblities. The mission of
this class is to open the minds of the young men and young women who enter
it to the possibilites of learning and to ready them for the adventure of
life that is ahead.

LEARNED! LIFE IS A CONTINUING CYCLE OF DISCOVERY, AND ALL SUCCESS COMES
