I am married to Mike Walker, and we live in Brandon, MS with our infant son,
John Michael and our dogs, Sue and Odie. I am a native of Yazoo County, and a
graduate of Bentonia High School, which no longer exists (consolidated into
Yazoo County). I have B.S.(1991) and M.Ed.(1998) degrees from USM,
Hattiesburg, and I am certified by the National Board of Professional
Teaching Standards in Adolescent and Young Adult Social Studies(2005). In
2006, I became one of our state's first Master Teachers of Economics, a
program sponsored by the MS Council on Economics Education.
Clinton High School has been my "home away from home" for the past 16 years
with the exception of the fall semester of 1996. I spent that semester at
Simmons High School in Hollandale, MS. I am proud to teach at CHS, and I
consider myself a fortunate, loyal Arrow.
I enjoy my work, love students, and strive to be the best woman and teacher
that I can be every day. We are always busy in my classes as I attempt to
give my students attainable challenges and make each day productive.
My goal is that when you complete any of my classes you will leave it smarter
and wiser than you began. Aim high! I do.
