Students should read their library books, read back over any notes taken
in class, and practice on their own a little while each night. Math homework
will be assigned about twice a week, so you might want to ask your child
about their math assignments.
If students are going to be on the computer, it is always a good idea for
them to look at educational sites such as National Geographic, Discover, The
Learning Channel, and many others. Also, there are school-sponsored programs
they can utilize for practice, such as studyisland.com, and Teacher Portal.
When students are sitting around watching tv, encourage them to tune in some
of the educational channels. A large part of the GED test is based on a
person's general knowledge of the world around them-political issues,
historical events,environmental problems, etc.
Students also have computer programs they can access for practice. See
the Helpful Websites page.
