Student Book Reviews

RedKiwi

Your Alias: RedKiwi
Title of book: Fade
Author: Lisa McMann
Star rating (1 – 5): 4.5

Review:
Fade is an excellent sequel to Wake, both fabulous books. Fade is exciting and gripping. The plot will keep you on edge as you follow Janie on her next assignment. I was engrossed in the story as Janie juggles work, her relationship, and her fate as a dream catcher. The book is wonderfully written, and will be hard to put down. (I read it in one day!!) Trust me, Fade is worth your time and energy. You’ll be glad you read it!

Your Alias: RedKiwi
Title of book: Right Behind You
Author: Gail Giles
Star rating (1 – 5): 4.6

Review:
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be the object of scorn? To have everyone hate you for something you did? Right Behind You reveals what it’s like to be that person, as author Gail Giles takes the reader through the life of a boy in this situation. With its intensely original plot and interesting, developed characters, this book will make you want to know what happens next, and after that…..and after that. It’ll also show you that even the “criminal” is sometimes the victim.

Sauerkraut

Your Alias: Sauerkraut
Title of book: Sweethearts
Author: Sara Zarr
Star rating (1 – 5): 5 Stars

Review:
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young princess by the name of Jennifer Harris and a young pauper by the name of Cameron Quick. ------------------- Sadly, that is not how this story begins. This story begins in a small town where two social outcasts, Jennifer Harris and Cameron Quick, become best friends. Then one day, Cameron doesn’t come to school. That day becomes a week, that week becomes and a month, and that month becomes a year. Jennifer’s mother convinced Jennifer that Cameron died. After Jennifer becomes one of the most popular girls in school, after years of believing Cameron is dead, he comes back. This is an edge-sitting book about the lives of two young people who stick together to find peace and love in the place where it all began …
while being apart.

Amy Waters

Your Alias: Amy Waters
Title of book: Divergent
Author: Veronica Roth
Star rating (1 – 5): 4

Review: I think the book was pretty interesting. If I had to choose, I would probably be divergent, too. If I had to choose like Tris, I also would have chosen Dauntless. I have most of those qualities, if not all. I am smart and brave. If I could, I probably would try to zipline from the top of a building. It seems like it would be cool.

AJ

Your Alias: AJ
Title of book: City of Bones Series
Author: Cassandra Clare
Star rating (1 – 5): 4.8

Review:
City of Bones series is an excellent romance novel; they have very suspenseful endings and beginnings. And it can compete with the best books of 2011. The story line is interesting as well as captivating. It is a book that will out last twilight series even if the fame does not surpass.
