What is language? We use language to express ourselves, talking, reading, and writing.  We live in a world of language. Language is a  system of communication and it combines the basic  linguistic componennts to form an infinite set of sentences, most of which are novel.  Knowledge of a language enables us to combine sounds to form words, words to form phrases, and phrases to form sentences.  Literacy is an achievement that rests on language competence at these levels.  In this session, we will focus on the discussion of language development, the possible causes of reading difficulty by many students, and reasons of teaching literacy that is comples and challenging. Literacy is an achievement that rests on
languge competence at these levels.
