WHERE:       Mississippi Valley State University’s Teacher Education Department  Itta Bena Campus  

  Project Learning Tree is a premier, interdisciplinary, natural resources education program. PLT provides supplementary education curriculum materials to enhance the classroom curriculum. For more information on Project Learning Tree, visit the website at www.plt.org

WHAT IS THE TRAINING? Project Learning Tree goals are to:

  1. Provide students with the awareness, appreciation, understanding, skills, and commitment to address environmental issues.

  2. Enable students to apply scientific processes and higher order thinking skills to resolve environmental problems.

  3. Help students acquire an appreciation and tolerance of diverse viewpoints on environmental issues, and develop attitudes and actions based on analysis and evaluation of the available information.

  4. Encourage creativity, originality, and flexibility to resolve environmental problems and issues.


    WHO:             Teachers of all subject and grade levels (Grades K-12)   


    WHEN:           October 11, 2014, Saturday


    TIME:             Start: 9:00 AM       Finish:   3:30 PM- Bring your own bag lunch!


    Registration:   Registration is required. Deadline to register is October 1st, 2014.


    Material Fee: A fee of $10.00 is payable onsite for the Environmental Education Activity Guide


    CEU Option:   Participants can earn 0.6 CEUs from Mississippi College. A $10.00 CEU fee is payable onsite to Mississippi College.


    LUNCH:         BYOB (Bring Your Own Brown-Bag Lunch) --- The session includes a  working  lunch.
