After graduating from the "W" in 1961, I taught 4th grade in Aberdeen, my
hometown, for one year. When my youngest child started kindergarten, I came
to OHA to teach elementary art in K-6. I then taught 4th grade for several
years before moving to 5th - my favorite grade.
I enjoy my cat, Toby (who weighs 21 pounds),taking care of my yard, and
reading.
I have high expectations for my students, but I am completely happy if a
student does his/her best.

In fifth grade language arts we learn how to spell words, to read and
understand books, and to write so that we express our thoughts clearly to
others. At the same time, we work to develop organizational skills, self-
discipline, and positive attitudes.
