Mr. Thurmond’s Newsletter week
of May 12th
Well
this is the last full week of school, next week Monday will be our only full
day and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we will get out at 11:25.
This has been a good week, and I expect the same for the finals week. This
will be my last newsletter of the year. First I want to say thank you to all
of you including the students for a good year. I hope they will do well in
6th grade. I also want to thank you parents for letting me teach your
children a few hours each day. I hope they have learned something that will
help them next year and in years to come. I hope the Math they have learned
will stick with them and will help them in their Math careers (continued
school work). I just can’t seem to be able to express my gratitude for having
the opportunity to teach these students. Each one of them is unique and each
one has specific talents that will help them go far in life, and each one of
them is special. Please spend time with your children. I think that is so
important in the development of children. You will never look back and say I
wish I had spent less time with my children. Each one of them is a special
gift to you, and it is up to you to do all you can to make sure that your
child/children
grows/grow up to be all that he or she can
be. Hope you have a great summer and hope you can go somewhere special
this year. I am looking forward to another

Math
This week in Math we will be
reviewing and getting ready for our final.
We will take our Final
Monday, May 19. If
there is anything that you feel your child is struggling with don’t hesitate
to call me or send a note, so that I can work with your child on that
mathematical concept.
Science
This week in Science we will finish
up Unit E Chapter 2, and then we will start reviewing for our Unit E test
which will also be our final. Our
Science final will be Tuesday, May 20
Social Studies
This week in Social Studies we will
finish up Chapter 11 in Unit 5, and start reviewing for Unit 5 test since that
will be our final. Our
Social Studies will be Wednesday, May 21.
