Crow Agency School's Computer Lab consists of a G4 and a Leopard server
for the school. One server is used for imaging computers and the other server
has our networking programs and teacher storage folders on it. There are 20
20" Intel iMacs in the lab. All the computers have iLife and iWorks '09 on them
to work with podcasting, digital movies and slide presentations.
All the computers are networked via ethernet to Laser printers. The lab
and every classroom are networked via ethernet to 18 Laserwriter printer in
the school. Four of the Laserwriters are color printers.
The school is networked for Internet Access. It is hooked up to a T
one line relay point circuit between our building and the district network
node. The traffic between our building and the net center is handled
through two Cisco routers. Access to the Internet and email services are
provided through a proxy and mail server.
The Macintosh Lab is an integral part of our teaching. With multimedia
software and the Internet at our fingertips, we have acccess to real time
data and information from around the world. We use books, paper, pencils,
flip video cameras, scanners, research from the library, the computers, digital
cameras, iPods, iPads, all subject area software, Promethean Boards, The CPS
system, Response systems and other technology tools to integrate computer
technology into the classroom curriculum.
The computer lab is also used for teacher technology inservice.
