Your lockers looked pretty good at the last check. You should count on them
being checked every week at Lab. Gentlemen - please remember that hats
should not be worn in the building. Ladies - please remember that class time
is NOT the time to be applying lip balm, lip gloss or what not.
You've set up how you want to run your class. Congratulations. You have
decided on a 4 person committee (2 boys, 2 girls) selected by lot every
quarter from those who wish to serve. The committee will run the class
meetings and be your representatives to and for the outside world. Decisions
will be made by class vote with 12 votes needed to carry all items regardless
of the number of people attending the meeting.
You have decided to make choices based on majority rule because you
understand that majority rule means voting and then supporting the winning
choice as if it was your choice. But please remember the "being comfortable"
rule when it comes time to make decisions as a class. Decisions that all
class members are "comfortable with" have a much better chance of being
actively supported by the entire group. Sometimes it takes a lot of
discussion to get everyone to the "comfortable" spot. "Being comfortable"
with something does not mean it is your first choice, it means you can live
with it, trust it, and participate in it.
You will eventually become who you pretend to be....so it is better to
pretend to be someone you can live with.
