January is one of the most active learning times of the school year. We have no vacations or major holidays to celebrate so learning and introducing new concepts becomes our
focus. The themes for January will be snow, snowmen, and penguins. I will focus on numerals, counting, sequencing, sorting and patterning which are all pre-math skills. We will continue the weekly schedule of handwriting, letter of the week, Weekly Reader, etc.. Assessments will be
ongoing during the first two weeks of the month with progress reports sent home towards the end
of the month.
