"I have always felt that Science is a subject that is best learned through
experiences and "doing" science as opposed to just reading about it in a
textbook. This year we will use textbooks as a supplementary resource in
the classroom. Most class periods will start with a journal question that
will lead us into a science investigation. Therefore, each student is
required to keep a 1" three ring binder science journal containing all
relevant questions with answers, notes, activities, labs, and data. Some
activities will be written up in a prescribed format and will count as major
test grades. To make this kind of learning possible, I must have dedication
and the willingness to participate from each class member."
