Homework

For young non-readers:
Read to your child every night for at least 30 minutes.
Ask your child questions about each story you read.
Have your child retell the story in the correct sequence of the story
action.
Have your child ask you questions about the story.
Have your child dictate to you a followup (sequel) to the story you just
read.

Some children will bring home speech/language homework practice pages when
it is appropriate for their level and needs. These assignments, when given,
will take only a few minutes a day and are usually enjoyable for the child.
This gives them an opportunity to practice what they are learning in
speech/language class in the home environment.
