This has been a wonderful year! I have enjoyed having your child and watching their progress in all areas! Your child is very special to Ms. King and me. We will miss them very much and look forward to watching their changes as they go through Codington Elementary. Your children have been Shining Stars and will always be a Shining Star!
To the best parents and volunteers in the school- THANK YOU! Your time, love, patience, smiling faces and help has meant the world to us!! You made a difference in children’s lives!
You received a form last week in reference to the Codington PTA Directory. When filling out this from for next year, please list my name for the teacher. We have been told to tell you to put current information and then it will be given to the new teacher.
This week, we will be making a My Kindergarten Memories Book. The children will reflect on their teachers, draw a picture of what they look like, things that they learned, their favorite special class, their favorite field trip and what they are looking forward to this summer. The last page will be friend’s signatures.
We will read Silly Fairytales, like Dinorella, Beware of Storybook Wolves, The Wolf Who Cried Boy, CinderHazel and Goldilocks and the Three Hares. We will compare them to the original Fairytales.
We will also be making Father’s Day Gifts!
On Wednesday, Codington will have Move Forward Day and the children will go visit a First Grade Classroom.
On Thursday, we will have “dress up day!” The children may dress up as pirates, princesses or mermaids. We will have special Kindergarten Rotations to go along with this theme. It will be a whole day of fun!
Please return any surveys that you still may have at home. You may return them to me or turn them into the office. I appreciate your time and feedback.
Please return any missing library books. There is a fee to replace the book, if it is not found.
Report Cards will be sent home in the Communication Folder on Friday, June 12.
Have a great summer,
Mrs. Maddox
