What Are We Doing?


   We are now in the last few weeks of the year. It is hard to believe how fast this year has gone by and how far the children have come. We are very proud of all of them!
Now that we are completing the alphabet, our main focus is on preparing for first grade! We are concentrating on:

 Reading
  • Using reading strategies
  • Story elements
  • Comprehension    
Writing
  • Using sight words and words that we know
  • Using sounds to form words
  • Using capitals and punctuation
  • Writing 3 or more complete sentences
Number Sense
  • Counting to 100 and beyond
  • Understanding more and less
  • Manipulating numbers
  • Simple addition and subtraction concepts

   As kindergarten teachers we will always continue to provide a comprehensive, rigorous curriculum balanced with developmentally appropriate practices in a safe and caring environment. We want the children to learn and to love learning!

  • Draw a picture that matches their writing
  • Read back what they wrote
