I love love love teaching at Douglas Creative Arts and Science Magnet
School! I have taught at four different elementary schools and Douglas is
absolutely exceptional! We welcome our parents and students and hope that
you will get as involved as you are able to. In our class, we have an open door policy.
Register as a volunteer and you are welcomed to come in anytime of the day
and week. We greatly appreciate all you do for us and our/your children!
I have a wonderful husband who takes a great interest in what we are doing at school and enjoys
shopping for classroom needs. He replenishes the food for all our classroom critters (fish,
hermit crabs, and dwarf frog) and purchasing the "live" fish for our ocean unit. I also have a wonderful
family who takes a great interest in what goes on in our classroom. They love visiting
and reading to our class. I also have a tuxedo cat named Zoe.
I graduated from Green Elementary, Carroll M.S.,
and Sanderson H.S. (a Raleigh native!) and Campbell University.
My interests include photography (I take a camera everywhere I go and enjoy
taking photography classes), violin, gardening (daylilies are at the top
of my gardening list),kayaking, reading and traveling. My favorite place to relax is
Ocracoke Island every summer with my husband. We are sometimes judges for the 4th of July parade,
so come join us for the parade.
