I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina
University and certification for reading in grades k-12.
This is my 4th year teaching second grade and my 5th year teaching. I enjoy
teaching and continue to challenge myself and my students by varying my
teaching styles and encouraging each child to be the very best they can be.
I believe in order to teach a child, you must first get to know the child's
personality and gain his/her respect. I am firm but always fair.
In my classroom, I try to create an atmosphere in which students can thrive
and feel that they each have a part in our classroom community.
I live in Wilson, which is about 20 minutes from Farmville.
I am happily married and I have two daughters, ages 8 and 17. In my spare
time, I love to read, play board games, visit new places and learn new
things.

so that they may become productive, contributing, literate
