The students have been working hard to learn functions of algebraic
equations. They learned 2-step, multi-step equations, combining like terms,
multi-step equations with formulas and inequalities. The students took a
quiz on 10/9 and will have a second quiz on 10/14, which will include word
problems and geometry re-writes with equations. Their unit test will be
10/19.
On 10/9 I gave the students a formula sheet. They will need to begin
studying this sheet to help learn the formulas for various shapes. By the
end of next week, the students will have completed word problems with
geometry, will have learned to solve problems for area and perimeter and
completed the beginning of surface area and volume.
A progress report will be going out on 10/12, so please ask your child for
that. It will be due back to me, signed, by 10/15.
