FAQFrequently Asked Questions
What are your email addresses? Mrs. Murphy camurphy@wcpss.net Mrs. Boriotti nboriotti@wcpss.net Mrs. Holland kholland1@wcpss.net Mrs. Rooker jrooker@wcpss.net What pod will we be in when we start school? Your four core classes will be at the bottom of the 8th grade hall during the first quarter. How do I know where to get my lock and find my locker? Your homeroom teacher will have the lock for you on the first day of school, and your locker assignment will be posted outside your homeroom teacher's door. BRING YOUR SCHEDULE WITH YOU. 8th grade lunch is during 6th period FROM 12:24- 12:54 PM, after your morning core classes and before your last two core classes. When can we socialize with friends? Each morning before the 8:00 homeroom bell rings you are free to "visit" other track 1 homerooms, but must stay out of the hallways and inside the classrooms. At 8:00 you must return to your assigned homeroom for attendance, announcements, homeroom and encore. During lunch, we sit by track but you can sit with anyone on our team. Do the 8th grade teachers really enforce the dress code? We sure do! Maybe more strictly than any other grade level! Straps on shirts must be 3 fingers wide, skirts, dresses and shorts must come to the tip of your middle finger, no underwear may be visible. Also, sagging pants, bare middles, very low cut tops, razor back shirts and inappropriate symbols or messages on clothing of any kind are not permitted. If you're not sure if a piece of clothing will be acceptable, please ask first and wear something else that day! WHY SHOULD MY PARENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE PTA FUNDRAISERS? The 8th grade PTA end of year celebration is funded through our yearly PTA fundraising activity. The 8th grade celebration can only be planned if enough money is made on the fundraiser. Please support whatever fundraising efforts our PTA sponsors so your 8th grader will have a wonderful send off at the end of the year. Thanks. |
