Parent Update- Monday, November 23, 2009
Report Cards on November 25- End of 1st Semester
Notification will be sent for students who are "not meeting promotion
standards" with report cards.
High School information:
February 1-21, 2010---------Magnet online application acceptance period
Science- This week, students have a test on Tuesday. All make-up/late work
and textbooks are due Tuesday, too. Students will begin studying water
pollution towards the end of the week.
Social Studies-- This week, students are continuing their study of the
constitution. Our track counselor, Ms. Williams, will visit social studies
on Tuesday to discuss "High School on the Horizon."

Language Arts--
*Late work will no longer be accepted starting 3rd Quarter. If a student is
absent they have two days to get the assignment complete and turned in.
This week 11/23-11/25, students will be presenting their
mock newscast on Monday.
Blue Diamond Assessment #6 and Grammar Assessment Q-2 will be given on
Tuesday 11/24

Math- In Algebra I this week, we will finish our 1st semester curriculum
with elimination method to solve a system of equations. A review for our
Midterm on November 20th will then begin. The midterm will count as 25% of
the 1st semester grade. After that we will take a Blue Diamond Assessment
and review 8th grade math topics.
Core math is working to finish the Pythagorean Theorem. We will begin our in
class project on Wednesday. We will have a notebook clean out on Wednesday.
Books will be picked up on Friday.
