I am a native of Cary NC and I have lived in the area all of my life except
the four years I spent at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. I earned my
undergraduate degree from L-R (now Lenoir-Rhyne University) in Elementary
Education in 1996.
I started my teaching career here at Holly Springs Elementary when the
school first opened in 1996! I taught second grade here for thirteen
years and chose to move to first grade two years ago. The 2011-2012 school
year will be my 16th year here!
I earned National Board Certification in 2004 and my Master's degree in
education from Campbell University in 2011.
In my free time I enjoy playing with my two boxers, Patch and Pepper as well
as road biking and spending time outdoors.
My goal is for every child to learn and have fun in a safe and caring
environment. I want them to work up to their potential and I hope to see
them develop socially, emotionally, and academically over the course of the
school year.
