Rewards
• Daily praise
• Praise notes
• Stickers/stamps/coupons
• Earned good grades
• "Pool Party" once every semester*
• The ultimate reward: an interesting, fun, and challenging class!
* "Pool Parties" are awarded to swim teams who are exhibiting extraordinary SWIMming in music. Each class the "Swim Team" can earn points - up to 10 regular points for "SWIMming" plus two bonus points for 100% class participation and completing a lesson. At the end of a semester, if classes have earned an average of 10 points per class, they have a "Pool Party". "Pool Parties" are when students get to choose what we do in music... anything musical and appropriate for school. This a great day for students to bring in their own musical instruments to share or their own Cds or mp3 players or studens will choose their favorite music games or songs.
Consequences of choosing not to SWIM:
1. Verbal/non-verbal warning
2. Seat moved near teacher
3. Time out
4. Note sent home (participation/behavior grade a 2 or 1 for the day)
5. Self-monitoring
6. Note sent home (signed and returned) or phone conference
7. Silent lunch in Mrs. Behrend’s room
8. Principal’s office, discipline report filed
Parents, please go over these expectations with your children and support our efforts to have a
wonderful and respectful learning environment.
Thank you,
Kristèl Behrend
