Athletic Training room has now reopened for the 2008-09 school year. Before
classes begin, the trainer will be in one hour before football practice and
stay until the end of football practice. If not in the training room the
trainer will be at football parctice. August 26th classes begin and the
training room Hours are 3:45pm to 5:00pm on school days. Days with after
school sports, the trainer will be at football practice or at game
location.

Physicals for Sports
* A student athlete is required to have a current physical examination on
file in the school office before they are elligible to participate in any
team practices or games.
* A physical exam is good for one calandar year.
* The state of North Carolina requires a physical examination to be signed by
a MD, PA, or Nurse Practioner to be accepted.

Athletic Pre-Participation form. Emergency Informaton, Medical History, and
permission MUST BE COMPLETED BY PARENT OR GUARDIAN BEFORE THE ATHLETE CAN
GET A PHYSICAL.

Wrestling :
State of North Carolina REQUIRES each wrestler to 1 - pass a hydration test
and 2 - have their % body fat calculated for tracking weight completed by
the Trainer BEFORE they participate in any matches or pratice sessions.

Injured Athletes:
When an athlete sustaines an injury during practice or while playing in a
game and has been seen by a physician, that athlete must bring a signed
release from the treating physician before he/she is allowed to return to
activity with the team.
The treating physician may send a persctiption to the Athletic Trainer to
provide rehab. services or to conduct follow up treatments and/or
evaluations.
If an injured athlete is brought to the Athletic Trainer for evaluation, the
Athletic Trainer will evaluate the injury and relay the information to the
parents or coach to take further appropriate action.
