Packets:
Completed Packets are due on test days with a 10 point deduction for each
day late.
Tests:
Missed tests must be made up before the test is returned for test
corrections,usually the next day. Tests may be taken early for a
planned absence or school related event. Any missing tests not made up
will be replaced with interim, midterm or EOC test scores.
Test corrections:
Test corrections are available and encouraged for all students. Half
credit is issued for each question corrected according to directions
given in class. Only 1 test for corrections can be checked out per
student at any given time.
Extra Credit:
Extra credit can be earned by completing assignments on Castle Learning.
10% of the students score will be added to the test of the same topic.
For example: If a student earns 80% on Castle Learning Assignment titled
Genetics- they recieve 8 points added on their Genetics test.
Writing Assignments/Essays
Writing Assignments/Essays are compiled in a Portfolio and kept by the
teacher to show student proficiency. Any writing assignment/essay can be
rewritten for full credit.
EOC State Test
Students must be proficient-scoring an 80% on the EOC Biology State Exam.
Tutoring
The Biology Department is offering "BOSS" -Biology Open Study Sessions!
Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afterschool there will be Biology
teachers and their classrooms available for student led study groups,
tutoring, Castle Learning and make up work according to the following
schedule:
Monday: Room 206
Tuesday: Room 203 and 210
Thursday: Room 207
