MONDAY, MAY 4
Students worked in the lab to determine the volume of hydrogen gas produced
by reacting a known amount of magnesium with hydrochloric acid. They used the
ideal gas law to determine the moles of hydrogen produced. Gen. Chem should
complete the lab sheets (data and calculations/questions) for a lab grade.
Honors chem. should complete a formal lab report. They are all due on
Wednesday, May 6 at the beginning of class.
Students also completed a set of review questions for the test on gases on
Tuesday.
HOMEWORK: Study for the test on gases!!!
TUESDAY, MAY 5
Students took a test on gases. No homework tonight.
THERE IS NOT TUTORING/MAKE UP AFTER SCHOOL TODAY. I AM NOT FEELING WELL.
SORRY FOR THE SHORT NOTICE.
WEDENSDAY, MAY 6
Labs are due!!
Students went over the gases test.
Students completed a circle map about solutions and electrolytes and they
also learned about the properties of water.
THURSDAY, MAY 7
Students learned about molarity and how to calculate the molarity of a
solution and also how to determine the amount of solute to use to produce a
solution of known molarity.
HOMEWORK: Finish the molarity practice if not finished in class.
FRIDAY, MAY 8
Students learned how prepare a solution by dilution.
HOMEWORK: Finish the dilution practice if not finished in class.
