This Week in Chemistry

MONDAY, MAY 4
Students worked in the lab to determine the volume of hydrogen gas produced
by reacting a known amount of magnesium with hydrochloric acid. They used the
ideal gas law to determine the moles of hydrogen produced. Gen. Chem should
complete the lab sheets (data and calculations/questions) for a lab grade.
Honors chem. should complete a formal lab report. They are all due on
Wednesday, May 6 at the beginning of class.
Students also completed a set of review questions for the test on gases on

THURSDAY, MAY 7
Students learned about molarity and how to calculate the molarity of a
solution and also how to determine the amount of solute to use to produce a
solution of known molarity.
HOMEWORK: Finish the molarity practice if not finished in class.
