How much time is spent in the classroom and in the shop?

Most weeks will have shop on Monday and Wednesday and classroom study on 
Tuesday and Thursday.

Most tests will be given on Friday's with extra shop time to follow.

Not very often.

Will I be able to work on my own projects?

Once you have had enough experience with the tools and equipment and have 
passed the safety test you will have the opportunity to work on your own 
projects.

Does the school supply the material to build with?

The school will supply the material for class projects. The student will 
need to supply their own project material.

Will the class have any projects away from the school?

No, all the projects will be around the school and in the shop.

Does the class go on field trips?

Yes, there will be planned trips throughout the year.

What type of hand and power tools will be used?

Hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, wrenches, sockets, drills, screwguns, 
levels, squares, tapemeasures, nailsets, files,handsaws, mitresaws, sawsall, 
circular saw, jigsaw, chopsaw, sanders, planers, routers and many more.

What type of power equipment will be used?

Tablesaw, bandsaw, planer, drillpress, router and more.

Does this course qualify me for an apprenticeship?

First year students will learn basic carpentry, safety and the use of all 
tools and equipment. Second year students will learn more advanced carpentry 
skills that may qualify them towards an apprenticeship and employment in the 
construction field.
