Should I read to my child?

Absolutely! Even in 4th grade, kids love to be read to! You can even take
turns reading. Let your child read a page outloud to you and then you read a
page outloud to him/her! Don't forget to ask questions while you're reading!

Should I be worried if I see a 2 on a paper?

If you see an occasional 2, don't worry. It just means that your child
needed a little extra practice on that particular skill. If you see many
papers come home with a 2 on them, please schedule a conference with me.

What is AIMSweb?

AIMSweb is a research based, data-tracking tool that is accessed online which
we will be using at Middle Creek YR Elementary to inform us of your childs
academic progress. Through the use of AIMSweb assessments and data capture
tools, we will be able to better understand what your child is learning;
therefore we will be able to more accurately instruct your child on their
level. The assessments can be given in both English and Spanish, and take
only a few minutes of the teachers time to complete. AIMSweb will be
extremely helpful for students of ALL ability levels as we strive to
differentiate instruction throughout our classrooms.
