NEWS

It's official! Steel drums are coming to NHHS!
The NHHS band boosters would like to thank everyone who voted for the Steel Drums grant including the NHHS students and students from surrounding bands such as Ashley, Hoggard and Laney; and also alumni from around the country, specifically the Classes of 1960, '61, '62 and '67. New Hanover County teachers and students also jumped in to help with the initial voting.

Special thanks to the National Inclusion Project http://www.inclusionproject.org/  and Strong Women Organizing Outrageous Projects (SWOOP) http://www.swoop4u.org/ - they got NHHS on track early in the month and voted for us consistently. They also helped NHHS make connections with other grants in the December voting process including Panther Creek High School band, West Johnston High School band and A.skate http://askate.org/, a national foundation that holds local skateboarding clinics for autistic children.

The next band booster meeting is Feb. 7th at 6:15pm in the band room. See you there!
