When is homework due?
Homework, along with their homework journal, goes home each Monday in their
homework folder for the entire week. The specific homework is listed by day on
their newsletter. They are to do their spelling choice and the Wednesday and
Thursday writing assignments in their homework journal. Spelling and Weds.
writing goes on the front page, Thurs. writing goes on the back of the same page.
It is due on Friday, or the last day of the week that we are in
school. They are to turn in their hw journal and their math sheet.
Can I volunteer in the classroom?
Of course! You must register on a Wake Co. computer at school
first, but volunteers are ALWAYS welcomed in our classroom. We do not turn
down an extra pair of hands :0)
What can I do at home to help my child?
READ, READ, READ! It is so important at this age to expose your
child to many forms of reading. Read to them, have them read to you, read the
signs on the side of the road when you are in the car, read at the grocery
store....anywhere! Read fiction stories, non-fiction, poems, etc. The more
they learn to love reading, the more successful they will be in all subjects.
Find out what they are interested in and go to the public library and get
books on that subject. Math is important as well. This is also something you
can do in the car ( make up word problems for them to
solve,addition/subtraction problems, etc. ) and the grocery store :0)
