Homework

Nightly homework will consist of reading TO and WITH your child. When you read talk about new words you discover in the book and what they mean.  After reading discussion can include such topics as characters, setting, and/or the sequence of events in the book read. 

I will also provide a monthly calendar with a variety of math activities you may do with your child to help reinforce the Kindergarten skills he/she is learning at school. Kindergarten children need to engage in hands on, active learning as much as possible so I encourage you to refer to the “Is There Homework in Kindergarten or 35 Things You Can Do at Home to Help Your Child This Year” information included in your child’s first Monday folder. In addition, throughout the year I will assign family projects for you to do with your child and individualized homework specifically for your child.
