February 13, 2012

  • There is a quiz tomorrow. Students are to the list the names of the minerals from softest to hardest according to the Mohs hardness scale.
  • There will be a test on February 16, Thursday. Students were given a study guide listing the actual page numbers and numbered questions to review. They wrote out each statement on paper during class time. This will help them to have the answers organzied and easily at hand for studyiing purposes.

February 10, 2012

  • There will be a quiz on February 14. Students will have to write the Mohs hardness scale. They will need to know the 10 minerals from softest to hardest. They have practiced in class.

February 9, 2012

  • 6 Rusch: Put together your crystal shape. Finish your worksheet about 3 types of rocks.

February 7, 2012

  • 6 Mode: Complete Section 2 , Chapter 3, pages 41- 44 of the workbook. Do numbers 1 - 44. We took some details and wrote those on the bottom of page 41. This is due tomorrow.
  • 6  Rusch: Complete workbook pages 38-40, #s 10-20. This is due tomorrow.

  • We continue to work in class on Rocks. Students completed #s 10 - 20 on pages 38-40 in Mrs. Mode's homeroom.

  • Students should be reviewing the notes about the "eye". Learn the parts of the eye.

  • Study the 10 steps in the process of how you hear. The steps will be mixed up on the quiz. You will have to number them in the correct order. Continue to review your notes about the parts of the eye.

January 24, 2012

  • Study and learn the position of the parts of the ear - Outer Ear, Middle Ear and Inner Ear. Refer to your diagram.The quiz will be tomorrow. Students practiced in class.

January 23, 2012

  • There will be 2 quizzes this week. One will be on Wednesday and one on Friday. The one on Wednesday entails labeling the part of the ear. The other one will be putting in order the steps in How We Hear Sound.

January 18, 2012

  • Students are learning about the parts of the ear and how we hear sound. They received a handout explaining the parts and the process of how to hear. Students should be studying this everyday. They need to become familiar with the names, how to label the ear correctly, and the steps in the hearing process.
  • There will be quizzes on each of the areas - label ear parts and the steps in hearing. Get prepared in advance!

  • Students are to finish the classwork handout about The Nature of Sound. This is due tomorrow.
  • Some students need to have their sound quizzes signed by their parents.

  • The students were more than happy to have extra time to study for the quiz. They will take the quiz tomorrow.

  • There will be a quiz on Wednesday, Jan. 11. It will be about sound. A study guide was given to the students.

  • Homework: Complete workbook pages 301 -303 - Section 3 "Music" # 1-15.

January 4, 2012

  • 6 Rusch = Continued notes about Sound and then students were to complete Workbook page 301, # 1-5. this is due tomorrow.
  • 6 Mode = Students took notes about Sound. Their homework is to make sure that Section 2, "Properties of Sound" pages 297-299. This is due tomorrow.

  • We corrected the Section 2 workbook pages of Chapter 18. We also took some notes about sound. Students should review information on a daily basis.
