  • 8 Ramsey: Complete Section 5 "Resourcs from the Ocean" - page 204 in the textbook. Finish the workbook pages 102 and 103 plus the 5 questions mentioned in class. This will be due on Monday, February 6.

  • 8 Saintsing: Complete Section 5 " Resources from the Ocean" page 204 in textbook. Finish the workbook pages 102 and 103 that accompany this section. This is due tomorrow.

  • 8 Ramsey: Complete Section 4 - The Neritic Zone and Open Ocean - Workbook pages 97-99.
  • 8 Saintsing: Same as 8R and 5 additional questions from pages 200- 203 in the textbook.

  • Read Section 3 "Intertidal Zone" (pages 192-195) as you complete workbook pages 93-95, #s 1-11. This is due tomorrow.

  • 8 Ramsey: Students are to finish their workbook pages 89-91 - Section 2 Ocean Habitats.
  • 8 Saintsing: Students are to finish their vocabulary words for Sections 2 ,3 ,and 4. They have the list of words.

  • Quiz on labeling the ocean floor tomorrow. Refer to the diagram that was given to you in class or your book.

  • Students are to finish Section 1, "Exploring the Ocean", pages 176- 185. They are to complete workbook pages 85 (#s 1,2,4,5,6,) and all of workbook page 87 as well as question #18 on page 88.
  • Quiz Friday, January 27 on labeling the ocean floor features.

January 24, 2012

  • Finish the 10 vocabulary words for Chapter 5 - Section 1 (p. 176). Also complete the questions on page 185 - #s 1a&b, 2a, and 3c.

  • 8 Saintsing: Pie graph is due tomorrow. This was prepared during computer class.
  • 8 Saintsing: Finish the 13 questions that were begun in class about Currents and Climate.
  • 8 Saintsing/Ramsey: Students took their quiz about sea salts and their formulas.
  • 8 Ramsey: Students had guidance class today. They should have completed the 13 questions for homework last night.

  • Quiz: The 2 8th grades will have their quiz on the sea salts and formulas tomorrow.
  • 8 Ramsey: Students are to finish the 13 questions from Section 4 - Currents and Climates.
  • 8 Saintsing: Students should finish defining the 6 words from Section 4.

January 13, 2012

  • 8 Ramsey: Students who did not finish answering the questions from the handout will need to do that by Tuesday.
  • 8 Ramsey: All students will make a pie graph based on the information completed in class. The title will be "The Composition of Ocean Water". They will label each pie section with the name of the salt and the % of the salt. It should be in color. Their name, homeroom and date due will also be on the paper. It is due on Wednesday, January 18, 2012

  • 8 Saintsing: Students had guidance yesterday so they are completing the questions on the handout. They are to finish the questions by Tuesday, January 17.

January 11, 2012

  • No Homework. We will begin the next and final chapter in our ocean studies.

January 6, 2012

  • All 8th graders have been given the opportunity to write out the definitions and answer the questions that will be on the midterm exam. They are to complete this over the weekend and study from it. The guide answers are for a grade and will be collected as they enter the classroom to take the midterm on Monday.

  • The midterm will be on Monday, January 9, 2011.
