The 1P Pride! Mrs. Parent's First Grade |
FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Homework is usually given on Monday through Thursday. Once a quarter there is a project that will be assigned with a week to do it which may extend over a weekend. What is done for birthdays in 1P? On your child's bday you may send in a snack and the child may wear nice dress down clothes. (no jeans) The snack needs to be for each individual, no cookie cakes, cakes, or things that need cut up. Cookies, brownies, jello cups, pudding cups, rice krispie treats, toosie roll pops, and donuts are all great examples that we have had in the past. If it is a summer bday your child may celebrate on their half bday. Please contact me ahead of time in case of doubles. Thank you. How should I get in touch with Mrs. Parent or Mrs. King? I usually check emails in the classroom before school, during snack or lunch, and after school. Notes are read in the morning by Mrs. King and given to me if they need immediate attention or at snack if they can wait. You may also call the school and ask to leave a message in my voice mail. Emails are the best way to reach me in the evenings. How does my child make up missed work? I will be sending home work that your child needs to complete. I will work in the classroom on anything I need to see them do on their own. I will NOT be sending home everything we did that day. If you are going out of town, please notify me ahead of time so that I can get a travel packet together with important work for the missed days. There may be others things upon your return that needed completed as well. We will be having a snack in 1P. Please send in a healthy lunch and snack to satisfy your child's hunger and thinking ahead of the need to think and participate in the afternoon. A Friday Folder is a blue folder which comes home almost every Friday. Inside the folder you will find most of the work completed by your child from that week, the 1P Pride Newsletter, and there may be notes or informational letters from the teachers. Please look over the folder and sign the attached sheet. This is a way for you to see how your child did making choices that week as well as all their hard work. Please return the folder to the classroom on Monday signed. |
