Immunization Requirement Change

The following is a change in the immunization requirement for school entry regarding
tetanus/diptheria/pertussis(Tdap) and mumps vaccines.

Tdap: (applies to rising 6th graders)
All students attending public school who are entering 6th grade after August 1, 2008, will
require a booster dose of Tdap, if 5 or more years have passed since the last dose of
tetanus/diphtheria(Td)vaccine.

All students not attending public school who are 12 years of ate or after August 1, 2008, will
require a booster dose of Tdap, if 5 or more years have passed since the last dose of
tetanus/diphtheria (Td) vaccine.

Mumps:
Students will now be required to receive a second dose of mumps vaccine before enrolling in
school, college, or university for the first time on or after July 1, 2008.
