Each night students will have a math review worksheet or family game and
must read for 30 min. In addition, they will be expected to choose one
spelling assignment from the contract.
SPELLING CONTRACT
One assignment must be completed every Mon., Tues., and Wed. night.
Spelling choices are:
1. Create flashcards with words and/or pictures
2. Cut letters out of old magazines/newspapers to spell 8 of you spelling
words and glue onto paper
3. Rainbow words-write your words in 3 colors
4. Words-in-words: write your word, then make up 2 smaller words from the
spelling word such as; Teacher 1. reach 2. cheat (please refrain from
using 2 letter words)
5. Write a poem using at least 8 words
6. Reverse ABC order
7. Use the dictionary to find the spelling word's definition (it is
acceptable to paraphrase)
8. Write a letter to a friend using 10 spelling words
9. Design a bookmark, write each word on the bookmark, and use it in class
for the week. Please make appropriate sized bookmarks.
*Thursday night's homework will ALWAYS be: Take a practice test at home.
Turn it in the following day. If you misspelled any words, rewrite them 5
times each.
