About The Teacher

I grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and graduated in 1997. I am an Elementary 
Education K-6 graduate of Chowan College in Murfreesboro, NC in 2001.  I 
moved to Wilmington in 2001 and taught second grade for six months at 
Bellamy Elementary School. I transferred to Parsley and this is my seventh 
year teaching. I taught kindergarten for 5 years and this is my second year 
teaching 3rd grade.  

I have a wonderful husband, Sean. We got married September 24, 2005- so it's 
almost been 3 years.  Sean has a great 10 year old daughter, Sloane.  She 
lives in New Mexico with her mom but stays with us each summer and every 
other Christmas.  We have 2 CUTE cats, Emmitt and Tess.  They are so sweet.  
We also have a salt water reef tank that houses 5 fish.

During my free time I like to do many things. I love going to the movies, 
shopping, reading, going to the beach and spending time with my friends and 
family.  I also love to travel. I love going to Mexico to snorkel and be on 
the beach- especially during Christmas time.  I have traveled to Europe 
twice and lived in London, England for 3 months during college.

Mission For The Class

We will be busy learning many things this year. I believe that to learn we 
must engross ourselves in every aspect of the topic. We must read books, eat 
foods, have guest speakers, go on field trips, use the senses and make the 
topic as REAL as possible. I try to do this through my lessons- and thus far 
have succeeded.
